An article in Inside Retailing says a huge 82% of people who search for a product online, say they will go into the store to buy the product.
This means that if you want to increase your foot traffic, you’d better have a good online program which draws people to your site. In addition, 63 per cent of people changed their mind in terms of the store they would visit as a result of the search process. The research was conducted by Global Reviews.

I asked Flaunt’s Digital Director, Dave Clark, if he was surprised by the findings. Dave said he wasn’t really surprised because often websites are a companies first impression. “It someone recommends something to you, you’ll take a look at their website first. If the site isn’t engaging, and doesn’t draw you in, it’s very likely you won’t go into the store”, said Dave.
